Key Performance Areas:
- Matric and bookkeeping or equivalent qualification
- Provide Education Drivers in Classroom and In Cab
- Develop a training plan and manuals for the training centre and In Cab training
- Co-ordinate, manage and present training
Functional Outputs:
PLAN TRAINING FOR DRIVERS BY:
- Working hand in hand with Controllers in order to establish what days drivers will be onsite for training to take place.
- Communicate with to market the training centre and to book drivers as needed by the company
- Preparing lessons that are tailored to driver needs.
- Providing instruction on the parts and functions of a vehicle, and on-road regulations.
- Teaching practical skills related to all aspects of driving.
- Helping students to develop confidence in their driving skills.
- How to apply all of the above with HSE and road safety requirements.
FASCILITATE TRAINING BY:
- Scheduling and Communicating with the drivers on when their training will take place.
- Compiling training Manuals.
- Co ordinating your training days.
- Creating key discussion points in classroom and in Cab.
- In classroom tests to be created.
- Travel in Cab with drivers.
ESTABLISH COMPETENCY OF DRIVERS:
- In Classroom Tests
- In Cab Driving Observation Test
- Predetermined driver failing/passing points
- Individual driver feedback report for company
DRIVER SUPPORT SYSTEM:
- Be telephonically available for drivers that require assistance and establish if further training.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES BY:
- Provide a safe Journey Plan
- Route Risk Assessments
- Discreet Observation
- Safe Loading and Offloading Observation
- Root Cause Analysis
- Internal Incident Investigation
- Driver Cam Observation
Minimum Requirements:
- Driver Trainer Assessment/Instructor qualification and or equivalent qualification done through TETA and Mercedes Benz.
- 5 years experience.
