Management of the debtors’ book at a national level, servicing 16 branches in the distribution (wholesale), engineering, civil, export, retail sector. The debtors’ book varies between R160 and R350 million per month.
•
Credit assessment of credit facilities including the analysis of financial statements together with the consideration of any other documents required to conclude a successful or unsuccessful application for a credit facility.

Export debtors with credit facilities insured in foreign currency, Letter of Credit (L/C) and Letter of Guarantee.
•
Managing collections processes and procedures and leading a team of credit supervisors, senior credit controllers, credit controllers and administration staff to successfully collect due and overdue monies from customers ranging from corporate blue-chip entities, public sector and the consumer (Individual)

Physical visits to customers negotiating and considering the restructuring of debt owing in such a way that the risk is minimised and the relevant agreements and contracts are concluded successfully. Handover of delinquent accounts to attorneys and debt collections agencies together with the close monitoring and management of delinquent debt is part of my daily functions. This includes the extensive liaison with attorneys, business rescue and insolvency practitioners.

Appointed as Project Manager for the implementation of a new ERP system for Multisource called Syspro included the following tasks

Four credit controllers reported collection of overdue accounts and credit control duties to me. In the event that legal action together with the attachment of the asset(s) was necessary, I liaised and instructed attorneys to attend to the matters. The legal debtors and recovery of bad debt formed part of my portfolio. Once the asset was attached and become saleable, I would execute the sales process of the asset.
