Duties
Logistics management: Ensure that the Fleet, equipment and staff used have the ability to produce services for the client at an acceptable standard. I also coordinate with the quality assurance/sales personnel to ensure that the courier service meets an acceptable standard and generates positive feedback from clients. I interact with the employees, prepare reports on the current condition of logistics, and decide on the next course of action.
Budget management: The operations manager may obtain the requirements for logistics and coordinate with the finance department to obtain the necessary approval for the budget. The manager ensures that quality equipment and vehicles are utilized within the budget.
Operational strategizing: Apart from logistics management, I also play a key role in chalking out the overall operational policy. I also formulate suggestions on how to make an optimum use of the resources of the organization.
Manage support services: Each support service has its own set of capabilities and key responsibility areas that finally contribute to the organizational goal. I play a vital role in maximizing the output of the various support services such as, IT, Finance, HR and Fleet.
Managing third party relations: Our organization may make use of different third party services, such as security, collection and delivery agents. I ensure that standard procedures are followed when third parties are hired; SLA’s are put in place and managed on a daily basis.

Duties
Customer satisfaction (Pick and Pay) ,Manning of the DC due to flexible volumes, Staff development, Performance management, Quality control, OH&S,
Planning of on time receipts, picking and dispatch of stock. This position is jointly responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations with specific focus on customer service. Working within budgetary constraints, efficiently receive, store, set up goods for shifts, direct activities and delegate responsibility where deemed appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor planned day to day warehouse operations and direct activities as required to ensure customer needs are being met and service levels are maintained.
Liaise with transport sub-contractors to ensure timely deliveries of produce into and out of the distribution centre.
Plan and set shifts for warehouse employees, ensuring sufficient structure is in place to maintain operational efficiency

Alter orders according to information received and from any late add-ons or cancellations.
Maintain communication with buyers to receive transmissions in a timely manner
Monitor pyramid picking, damage to cartons, including damaged cartons of produce in the pick.
Liaise with transport sub-contractors to ensure that delivery windows are being met.
