Consumer Electronics : Support Technician From 2015-01 To 2019-05
Duties
General technical and support level assistance, both internal and external. Client facing technical and product support. Staff technical assistance and setup. General technical and other assistance functions for upper management. Systems and full technical support function for customers, staff, senior management and associated third party service providers/vendors. I was responsible for anything and everything not ordinarily assigned to a specific staff member and I would assist the owner’s friends/family when they need something the business sold. I was responsible, from start to finish, for all of the company’s outgoing marketing messages, including the website copy accuracy and applicability particularly with regard to stock, part numbers, product codes, availability, etc. I was solely responsible for the creation, adoption and subsequent adaptation of the whole company’s social media presence and marketing/engagement strategy from inception to execution and upkeep. I created all of the company’s social networking accounts and managed them all 24/7 for approximately 4 months unofficially, before my boss found them and agreed to go ahead with them. As a senior, more experienced member of staff I was largely responsible for anything that came up whether it was a technical issue with the VOIP Telephone system, the hosting or content/execution of the various websites owned by the company, a staff or customer related issue or anything in between. As the company was 100% Chinese Taiwanese owned there was a lot of scope for potential translation issues and other issues related simply to the difference in cultural backgrounds between the company leadership, staff, customers and general public. As a result I was generally the final checkpoint before any English language copy left the company. I handled everything from international logistics to advanced level website programming and eCommerce setup, configuration, execution, administration, troubleshooting, support, etc. I also have extensive experience working with people from a wide variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, from Chinese speaking Taiwanese nationals to French speaking Congolese nationals. White, black, Coloured, Indian and all other demographics in-between, I get along well with people and am generally a friendly, helpful person.
