The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the following:
Tasks
- Receive used company products
- Inspect used company products
- Produce scope of work for used company products
- Produce observation reports for used company products
- Product failure analysis reports for used company products
- Clean contaminated, used company products
- Prepare used company products for assembly
- Assemble used company products
- On request assist customers with failure analysis for company products, pumps and on-site assistance
- On request assist customers with installation of company products and training
- Any reasonable instruction given by line manager within the ability and competence
- People
- Work as a team with other technicians and other personnel as required during daily operations.
- Processes
- Ensure company processes and legal standards are adhered to at all times.
- Become familiar with local and group processes for the care, refurbishment and analysis of used company products.
- Health and Safety and Environmental Aspects
- Ensure that you are sufficiently trained to perform all functions safely within company.
- Ensure you have done appropriate medicals and are physically able and fit to perform any duty and to notify your line manager and the HSE
- officer should you not be able to perform any function due to a safety concern.
- At all times adhere to the company rules, policies and procedures regarding Health, Safety and the protection of the Environment.
- Ensure procedures are adhered to with respect to the decontamination and PPE requirements related to contaminated used
- company products.
- Ensure machine safety is adhered to with special note of manual turning and polishing processes.
- Reporting
- This position reports into the Field Service Manager.
- Reports may include but not limited to:
- Daily workload, utilization, hours worked on a specific job, job cards etc.
- Machine inspections and safety inspections
- Area risks and near miss/accident events
- Chemical safety registers
- Hot work permits
- Lifting equipment inspections
- Stock takes of customer property
- Observation and failure reports
- Non conformance reports
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & OTHER QUALITIES
- Matric
- Fitter and turner or equivalent NQF level
- 5 Years in the pump and mechanical seal business as a technician.
- MS Office (Excel, Project, Word, Power Point)
- Customer Service Management process and procedures
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Good communication skills
