Permanent - Red Seal Diesel Mechanic - Germiston - South Africa

We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Volvo trucks and fleet maintenance, particularly in the repair and maintenance of trailers. This role will involve working shifts and being on standby to provide support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on diesel engines, with a focus on Volvo trucks.
• Service and maintain a fleet of trailers to ensure they are roadworthy and comply with safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and complete repairs promptly.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure high standards of work and compliance with company and legal regulations.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Be available for shift work and standby duty, responding to emergency repair calls as needed.
• Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

• Red Seal Certification as a Diesel Mechanic is required.
• Experience working with Volvo trucks and fleet management.
• Strong knowledge of trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, and electrical components.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot problems efficiently, and complete repairs to a high standard.
• Willingness to work shifts, including night shifts and be on standby for emergencies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
