Purpose of Position:
To take overall accountability for leading and delivering exceptional market research projects and outputs that answers critical business questions for our clients; that exceed client expectations, are aligned to our strategic priorities and result in business continuity and growth.
Key Performance Areas:
People Management:
To lead and manage the research department by defining and directing activities, monitoring performance, and developing staff to ensure that the objectives of the department are achieved on an ongoing basis.
Key Account Management:
To define and manage the execution of Research Plans for the department that will result in increased business opportunities and the achievement of the set profitability and growth targets.
To build and foster working relationship with internal and external stakeholders to streamline project efficiencies, retain key accounts and increase the opportunity for cross selling solutions.
Together with the Commercial Team prepare and present proposals and final reports to strategic key accounts in a professional manner which upholds the company's brand and supports continuous growth and profitability.
Budget & Reporting:
Together with finance, compile an accurate budget to enable the department to achieve its strategic objectives.
To manage the allocated budget by monitoring and evaluating expenditure to mitigate risk, minimize overspend and maximize profitability for the business.
To identify and implement cost reduction opportunities within the department to improve the financial profitability of the business.
Research Operational Management:
To effectively lead and manage multiple research projects by taking overall accountability for accurately understanding strategic client’s needs; scoping and conceptualizing the solution; together with internal and external stakeholders; to ensure the client’s needs are met within the agreed timeframe.
To plan, coordinate and optimize the use of available resources (i.e., people, money & systems) to ensure timely and accurate execution of various project initiatives through the team; thereby guaranteeing client satisfaction and key account growth for the business.
To lead the effective and efficient delivery of all research projects in the department resulting in the premium experience for our clients which upholds the company's reputation and ensures continuous growth.
Data Integrity:
To take responsibility for the overall integrity of report outputs moving through the department thereby ensuring superior quality of outputs and achieving the client's needs and supporting sustainable growth for the company.
Business Integration & Improvement:
To liaise and provide ongoing expert advice to all stakeholders (internally & externally), thereby ensuring the business provides an integrated and efficient service to all our clients resulting in consistent profitability and growth. This includes providing input into proposal and client solution development.
To design, implement and ensure adherence to global best practice policies, processes, systems, and reports to optimize workflows, monitor performance and measure success of the department on an ongoing basis.
