Permanent - Switchboard Operator - Johannesburg (CBD) - South Africa

• Work within a team of switchboard operators and handle 700 extensions.
• Screen and direct calls to the correct extension numbers or departments.
• Manage international calls
• Assist internal and in directing queries to the correct persons or departments.
• Field and escalate complaints to the correct persons

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 

Basic Work Experience Required:

• 1 – 2 years’ experience in handling a busy switchboard

Knowledge And Skills:

• Knowledge of Business Connect system
• PC and Keyboard Literacy
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good attention to detail, planning, organising and follow up skills
• Good interpersonal skills – willing to assist and go the extra mile
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills
• Adaptable, strong sense of teamwork across the organisation
• Deadline driven / results orientated.
