Electrical Duties:
Install and Maintain Electrical Systems
Wiring of motors, panels, lighting, and distribution boards.
Install and test electrical equipment (cables, circuit breakers, transformers).
Troubleshooting & Repairs
Diagnose electrical faults and repair systems to restore operation.
Perform fault-finding using multimeters, insulation testers, and circuit diagrams.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure systems meet regulatory standards (e.g., SANS, OSHA).
Lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures and adherence to safety protocols
Instrumentation Duties:
Calibration & Testing
Calibrate instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, thermocouples, and level sensors.
Use calibration tools like multimeters, HART communicators, and pressure calibrators.
Installation of Instrumentation
Install field instruments for temperature, pressure, level, and flow measurement.
Wire and connect instruments to PLCs or DCS systems.
Preventive Maintenance
Schedule and perform regular checks on instrumentation and control systems.
Replace worn-out or failing sensors and transmitters.
Documentation
Maintain loop diagrams, calibration certificates, and maintenance logs.
