Permanent - Maintenance Planner - Vanderbijl - South Africa

• Execute a Maintenance Management System for the Plant and Equipment as required
• Execute a Safety Health and Environment system in accordance with ISO18001 and ISO14001and ensure certification as require 
• A maintenance planner is responsible for making sure maintenance technicians have the tools and parts they need to complete work orders 
• Assist in preparing the normal and abnormal maintenance budget for the Department 
• Assist in preparing and managing the Capital budget for company
• Delegate responsibility to the Mechanical and Electrical Foreman to carry out the maintenance function (Planned and breakdown) on all plant and equipment. 
• Implement corrective and preventative actions that could affect product quality 
• Commissioning of new plants after installation. 
• Attend to procedural and equipment issues that arise and require engineering evaluation and direction to improve specific maintenance procedures ? Managing supply contracts of equipment and supervision of best practise installation by contractors. 
• Recommend and carry out plant modifications to improve processes and equipment performance 
• Liaises with the Engineer to offer advice on Plant and Machinery modification and purchase of new equipment. 
• Assist in Controlling the abnormal maintenance expenditure as per approved budgets and advise Managing Director of progress of expenditure. 
• Planning of shutdown work and execution thereof 
• Compile periodic reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually) to ensure company Leadership has up to date information for decision making

Qualifications, Skills And Experience:

• A national diploma in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering with a minimum of three years’ planning experience or at least five years’ practical experience as an artisan 
• A b-tech degree or trade test certificate qualification will be advantageous 
• Millwright with red seal 
• An understanding of Facilities Management and building maintenance ? OSHACT Knowledge (ISO 18001 & 14001) 
• Project Management 
• Budgeting, Planning & Negotiation Skills 
• PC Literate 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
