Job Overview

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient and safe manufacturing processes. The role involves setting up machines, performing quality checks, and adhering to all safety and operational standards to meet production targets and maintain product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Inspect products to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report any mechanical issues or faults promptly.
• Adjust machine settings to improve performance and output efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
• Adhere to all workplace safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily production goals.
• Ensure machines and work areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
• Identify and report any process improvements or potential risks in the production line.

Key Requirements

• Education: Minimum Grade 12 (Matric); technical or mechanical qualification will be advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Technical Skills:
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or machine manuals.
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of production safety and quality control standards.
• Soft Skills:
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
