The Stock Cost Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock and cost records, ensuring the integrity of inventory data, and supporting operational efficiency through effective cost control and analysis. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, and operational teams to ensure optimal stock management and cost accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update accurate stock records within the inventory management system.
- Coordinate and oversee monthly stock counts, reconciling variances and investigating discrepancies.
- Supervise the receipt, inspection, and recording of incoming deliveries to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee the preparation and issuing of stock for technicians and customer orders.
- Monitor stock levels, lead times, and reordering thresholds to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Analyse stock variances, movements, and costs to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with suppliers, internal staff, and logistics teams to ensure efficient stock flow and on-time deliveries.
- Maintain well-organised, safe, and compliant storage areas.
- Support the finance team with stock-related cost reporting and month-end processes.
