We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior CNC Operator (Trainee) to join our production team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone currently in training or beginning their career in CNC machining. The successful candidate will assist with machine setup, basic programming adjustments, quality checks, and routine maintenance while developing technical skills under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Operations and Setup
- Load raw timber and sheet materials (e.g., MDF, plywood) onto CNC machines safely and efficiently.
- Select appropriate tooling for specific cutting, drilling, and shaping tasks.
- Conduct tool changes as required for different operations.
- Assist with machine setup to ensure accurate production runs.
2. Programming and Editing
- Load CNC programs into machines (e.g., G-code).
- Test and run programs under supervision to verify correct operation.
- Make minor edits and modifications to CNC programs to ensure precise cutting and shaping.
- Report programming errors or inconsistencies to senior operators or supervisors.
3. Quality Control
- Measure finished wood products using appropriate measuring tools.
- Compare products against blueprints, engineering drawings, and templates.
- Ensure components meet required specifications and tolerances.
- Identify defects and report quality issues promptly.
4. Maintenance
- Perform routine cleaning of CNC machines and work areas.
- Lubricate machine components (e.g., sliders, bearings) as required.
- Change router bits and inspect tooling for wear or damage.
- Troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions and escalate issues when necessary.
5. Production Monitoring
- Monitor machines during production cycles to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Check for proper material usage and minimize waste.
- Ensure safe operating procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain accurate production records where required.
