We are seeking a skilled and technically minded Workshop / Hydraulic Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical power tools and hydraulic equipment, ensuring high-quality workmanship and efficient turnaround times.

This role requires a hands-on problem solver who takes ownership, works well under pressure, and maintains high standards of quality and workshop organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Repairs & Maintenance

  • Determine the cause of failure and repair electrical power tools and hydraulic units.
  • Perform fault-finding on high-pressure hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on power tools and hydraulic equipment.
  • Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards before completion.

Workshop Operations

  • Book in units for repair and create detailed job cards, recording customer instructions and notes accurately.
  • Maintain quality control standards within the workshop.
  • Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with housekeeping standards.
  • Assist customers and sales representatives with offloading units when required.

Training & Support

  • Mentor and guide learners/apprentices by teaching repair techniques and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and assistance where required.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Matric (Compulsory)
  • Minimum N3 with Electrical Trade Theory
  • Power Tool Repairs Certificate (advantageous)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Power Tool Technician.
  • Previous repair experience (beneficial).
  • Strong fault-finding experience in electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of leading power tool brands such as Bosch, Makita, and similar brands (advantageous).

Skills & Knowledge

  • Hands-on technical ability.
  • High-pressure hydraulics fault finding and repairs.
  • Pneumatics fault finding, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business One (advantageous).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
