The Sales Consultant is responsible for driving company growth by acquiring new customers, managing and expanding the existing client portfolio, and minimizing client terminations. The role requires proactive sales activities, strong relationship management, and effective use of CRM systems to ensure consistent performance against sales targets and company objectives.
The successful candidate will actively engage in prospecting, client meetings, quotations, and contract management while ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and adherence to company pricing and sales processes.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities to grow the company’s client base.
- Manage and expand the company’s portfolio of existing customers.
- Conduct regular client visits and attend scheduled meetings.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Perform a minimum of:
- 20 cold calls per week (telephonic or door-to-door)
- 20 prospect meetings per week
- 5 quotations issued per week
- Ensure all client contracts are signed and valid.
- Negotiate sales agreements and pricing adjustments in collaboration with management.
- Prepare pricing proposals and quotations, including pricing for tender submissions.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Address client concerns and ensure high service standards.
- Manage and monitor client terminations and work to minimize cancellations.
- Oversee new site implementations and coordinate installations with the Operations team.
Sales Planning & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Submit weekly sales reports to management.
- Maintain an accurate weekly planner.
- Provide monthly sales forecasts by the 25th of each month.
- Conduct monthly analysis of the 5-Step Sales Process.
- Maintain and update:
- Sales pipelines
- Year-to-date (YTD) sales reports
- Commission calculations (completed by the 5th of each month)
CRM & Administration
- Utilize and maintain the company CRM system, ensuring all data is updated and accurate.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s pricing structure unless otherwise approved by the Managing Director.
- Adhere to the monthly sales petrol budget.
- Support annual updates to the commission structure and pricing model with management approval.
