Reporting to the Contracts Manager

Essential duties (KPAs):

Compile contract documentation from tender file, ensure that the contractual commitments within the scope of the tender requirements are met and documented.

On receipt of order acknowledgment received from tendering department, be able to convert and prepare 'extended description' document for the equipment

Load order on the system as per customer specification

Commission drawing office to prepare the drawings

Guide the order(s) through the manufacturing processes and ensure customer specifications are adhered to

Ensure that the quoted profit margin is maintained and maximise profit within terms of the contract

Ensure on time delivery and comply with project milestones

Prepare, submit and update production/testing/inspection/installation/commissioning programmes (Ghanti chart or network format) as required to the relevant instances

Evaluate and monitor contract performance continually and arrange for customer inspections of complete product

Act as technical support to the engineering and manufacturing departments

Source and evaluate suppliers to identify most cost effective technically acceptable products/parts

Maintain excellent working relationship  with customers to ensure their needs are met and that customer is kept up to date on a regular basis

Generate customer reports and arrange for invoicing to customer

Keep all filing relevant to the contract up to date and in logical sequence and good timekeeping records

Must be prepared to work beyond normal working hours if and when required

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

Diploma/BTech/BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering, Project Management Certification

3-5 years experience in Medium Voltage products, electrical engineering projects or contract engineering

In depth understanding of commercial contract conditions

Strong understanding of technical drawings (SLDs, schematics and layouts)

MS Office 365 and MS Office experience is essential

A good understanding of commercial conditions related to import and export of goods and manufacturing

Knowledge and understanding of different contract conditions NEC and or FIDIC

Knowledge and understanding of different ERP Systems especially SYSPRO

Excellent problem-solving skills and good written and verbal communication

Must be able to work accurately, under pressure and unsupervised

Knowledge and understanding of CPA and rates of exchange

Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects)
