Purpose of the Role
- To actively develop the Western Cape/Durban African market by identifying and building relationships with key decision-makers, unlocking business opportunities for Consumables, Laser Welding and Laser and Plasma Cutting, with ad hoc maintenance and customer support.
Responsibilities
- Cold calling: in person, by telephone and online.
- Establish, maintain and strengthen long-term relationships with clients.
- Act as the primary point of contact for accounts.
- Lead generation and execution.
- Use the CRM in accordance with the Company SOPs.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase sales.
- Monitor market trends, pricing and competitor activities.
- Provide insights and recommendations for product positioning and pricing strategies.
- Gather customer feedback to improve product offerings and service levels.
Performance Indicators
- Number of new qualified decision-maker connections established per week.
- Value and volume of sales.
- Accuracy and completeness of CRM data.

Minimum Requirements
- Suggested additions for your review; edit or remove as needed.
- Grade 12 (matric); a technical qualification or sales/marketing diploma is advantageous.
- Proven track record in B2B or technical sales, preferably in industrial machinery, metal fabrication, welding or engineering consumables.
- Working knowledge of laser and plasma cutting and welding applications is advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle; willingness to travel regularly within the territory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication in English; Afrikaans is advantageous.
